Prevent Duty

At The Motiv8 School, safeguarding is our highest priority. As part of this, we are fully committed to fulfilling our responsibilities under the Prevent Duty to protect pupils from the risk of radicalisation, extremism and all forms of extremist ideology.

We recognise that vulnerable young people may be at increased risk of being targeted or influenced online or in the community. Our staff are trained to identify concerns, understand early warning signs and take swift, appropriate action in line with statutory guidance.

Our approach includes:

– Staff training on Prevent and recognising signs of radicalisation
– A curriculum that promotes critical thinking, respect and tolerance
– Teaching pupils how to stay safe online and in the community
– Strong emphasis on British Values, equality and celebrating diversity
– Clear safeguarding procedures for reporting and responding to concerns
– Partnership working with parents, carers and external agencies
– We encourage open discussion and mutual respect, helping students confidently challenge harmful viewpoints and make safe, positive decisions.

Through vigilance, education and support, we promote a safe and inclusive school environment where pupils can thrive, feel valued and develop into responsible citizens.
